Why compressing images matters
Images are usually the heaviest part of any web page. A single photo straight from a phone can weigh several megabytes, while a properly compressed version looks the same at a fraction of the size. Lighter pages load faster, rank better in search and keep visitors from leaving.
The compressor removes what the eye does not notice: invisible metadata, redundant colour detail and excess precision. JPG and WEBP files are re-encoded with an optimised encoder, and PNG files are reduced by limiting the palette only where it makes no visible difference.
Everything runs on our servers and uploads are permanently deleted after 2 hours. There is no watermark on the compressed files.
