Frequently asked questions
Use 1:1 for classic square posts or 4:5 for portrait posts, which take up more space in the feed. Stories and reels use 9:16.
Picking the right crop for each platform
Social networks do not show your whole photo: they force it into their own frame. Instagram favours square 1:1 and portrait 4:5 posts, YouTube thumbnails and most website banners use a wide 16:9, and stories and reels fill a tall 9:16 screen. Cropping to the right ratio before uploading prevents the platform from cutting off faces or text.
Our cropper removes pixels from the edges without resampling the part you keep, so the remaining image stays exactly as sharp as the original. You decide whether the crop is taken from the centre, the top or the bottom of the photo.
Batch cropping runs on our servers, and all files are permanently deleted after 2 hours. No watermark is added.
