Frequently asked questions
Alphabetical sort compares characters left to right, so "1" sorts before "9" regardless of the full number — use numeric sort instead.
When each sort type is useful
Alphabetical sorting is the default for names, tags and general text lists. Numeric sorting treats each line as a number, so "10" correctly comes after "9" instead of before it as alphabetical sorting would place it. Sorting by length is handy for organizing keyword lists or finding the shortest or longest entries.
This is a quick way to organize CSV columns, keyword research exports, or any list pasted from a spreadsheet without opening a spreadsheet tool.
