What a phone number tells you on its own
Every phone number follows a numbering plan published by its country. The plan defines which prefixes are mobile, which are landlines, which are toll-free or premium, and how many digits a valid number has. Checking a number against those plans reveals whether it can exist at all, before you waste an SMS credit or a call.
Businesses use this to clean contact lists, block fake sign-ups and store numbers in the E.164 format that SMS gateways, CRMs and WhatsApp links expect. It also helps you spot a call from an unexpected country before you answer.
This lookup is deliberately limited to the number itself. It does not identify the person or company that owns a line, and the numbers you check are not stored.
