Why format SQL
Long queries written on a single line are hard to read and debug. Putting SELECT, FROM, WHERE, GROUP BY and ORDER BY each on their own line, with keywords in uppercase, makes structure obvious at a glance.
This is a lightweight formatter for everyday queries. String literals are preserved as-is. Very complex or dialect-specific SQL may need a dedicated IDE formatter.
